Southdale Chaplaincy
The Southdale Chaplaincy has worked in the London-Middlesex Housing Complex at Southdale Road East and Millbank Road since 1991. Over the years several programs and services have been offered to the community in response to its needs and the available resources to meet those needs.
Currently, the Chaplaincy provides counselling and crisis support; advocacy with London and Middlesex Housing Corporation and other agencies and authorities with whom residents must deal; provide resources and links to other social support agencies; after school programs for children 5-12 yrs old; women's coffee mornings and support circle; emergency laundry facilities; emergency health care vouchers; bus tickets, food vouchers, diapers and baby food as donations support; children's summer camp sponsorships; community Christmas dinner; Christmas hamper program; fax and copy availability; computer lab with Internet for job search and homework; English as a Second Language supports; Southdale choir; and ongoing program development, including workshops and seasonal activities for both children and adults.
